Welcome to mLog!

Here are some helpful tips with getting started as you set mLog up for the first time. After following the download link and instructions that your mLog administrator sent, complete these steps to set up the app.

Initial Log In

On your initial log in, you will be prompted to enter your vehicle information:

  • Year
  • Make
  • Model
  • Current Odometer

Complete the information to the best of your knowledge. You can edit it later. If you have multiple vehicles, you can add them later as well.

Selecting Auto Start Tracking Mode

Next, select a mileage tracking style:

  • Fully automated (MagicTrip™)
  • Semi-automated
  • Manual

Each mileage tracking option is explained below. To make changes to the settings, open mLog app > Menu > Auto Start On. (You may also compare the different options within the app under Compare Auto Start Options after your select Auto Start On.)

Fully automated
MagicTrip™ is the default autostart setting, and automatically tracks any movement over 5 miles per hour. Keep in mind that this autostart setting uses the most battery power.

To select, go to Menu > Enable Auto Start > MagicTrip™ as the Auto Start Option.

Semi-automated
This setting will track any movement over 5 miles per hour ONLY when your phone is connected to a power source.

To select, go to Menu > Enable Auto Start > Plug-N-Go as the Auto Start Option.

Manual
The driver determines when to manually track the trip start and trip stop. Note: It is important to train yourself to remember to start AND stop the trip. If needed, you can manually enter or edit a trip after the fact.

To use, make sure Enable Auto Start is turned off or disabled (accessed through Menu > Auto Start On > Auto Start Option). Then, from the home, or Trips page, select the Play icon (the green button in the footer) to start a trip and choose the Stop icon (the red ‘stop’ button) at the end of a trip.

To always manually enter trips, first, check your settings from the Trips page, select Menu > General Settings > Manual Start Trip Default. Make sure this set to Always Ask. Next, select the Start Trip (green ‘play’ button) > Manual Start > Manual Entry.

Confirming Data Sync

It is important to confirm that your data is backed up and synced to the cloud.

Individual Account – If you’re setting up a personal account, go to mLog app > Menu > Account > Register.

Corporate Accounts – If you’re part of an organization's account, you will receive a welcome email with your account information. YOU WILL NOT CREATE A PASSWORD.

Log in – Confirm that you are logged into your account from the app. From the Trips page select Menu > Account > Enter Email and Password > Log in. Then choose Merge Data when it asks.

IMPORTANT Reminder

mLog must be running in the background to capture mileage in the auto tracking setting. mLog MUST be opened or reopened if one of the following occurs:

  • mLog or the device/phone is turned off
  • mLog is forced closed or quit
  • The battery dies
  • The operating system is updated

Otherwise, mLog will remain off and mileage will not continue to track automatically.

You are ready to track your first trip!
