Auto Start Battery Use - Important Considerations

When using mLog with iOS, it’s helpful to remember a few things about battery usage by the app:

  • GPS mileage tracking can have a significant impact on battery usage. mLog uses GPS coordinates requiring accurate GPS location readings. This can consume significant battery use depending on the year and model of the device.

  • Auto Start also can affect battery usage. When Auto Start is enabled, mLog runs in the background waiting for a power plugin event. When idling, mLog continues using GPS in the background. The notification bar or menu will display the GPS indicator except when the phone battery is very low.

How To Preserve Battery Life - iOS

You can turn off the Auto Start Option to preserve battery life. Here's how:

From the mLog home, or Trips page, go to Menu > Auto Start Settings > Enable Auto Start > OFF. You can always turn it back on by selecting Enable Auto Start > ON.

Force quitting mLog is an option but is not recommended. Here's how:

  1. If using an iPhone X or later or an iPad iOS 12 or later, from the Home screen, swipe up from the bottom of the screen. If using an iPhone 8 or earlier, double-click the Home button to display the most-used apps.

  2. Choose the app you want to close by swiping right or left.

  3. Swipe up on the app's preview to close the app.
